Traveling from/to the airport

• Santiago de Chile Airport (Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport)

If you fly into Santiago international airport, we recommend you fly from the national airport next to the international airport. You may need to walk for only 5-10 minutes. Three airlines are working in this route; LATAM, SKY, and Jetsmart. Normally there are at least five direct flights from Santiago to La Serena (La Florida) airport. La Serena is the capital of the Coquimbo region. La Serena – Coquimbo is a big conurbation. The university is only 15 km far from the airport. We recommend arriving in Chile before the afternoon because normally, there is no flight after seven pm from Santiago to La Serena.

• Antofagasta International Airport (Aeropuerto de Antofagasta Andrés Sabella)

There are limited possibilities for those planning to visit North America or neighboring countries such as Peru to enter Chile from the country's North. You can still access La Serena directly from Antofagasta.

Transport

You can easily use Uber, DiDi, and inDrive applications during your stay. These applications work properly in this conurbation inside La Serena and Coquimbo. You can find shared taxis and some minibusses working inside the region.
